3/16/2018 0 Comments Poker Basics - Poker CCPoker CC Poker is a family of card games that combines gaming, strategy, and skill. All poker variations involve betting as an intrinsic part of play, and decide the winner of each hand in line with the combinations of players' cards, at least a few of which remain hidden until the end of the hand. Poker games differ in the amount of cards dealt, the number of shared or "community" cards, the number of cards which stay concealed, as well as the gambling procedures. In the majority of modern poker games, the initial round of betting starts with one or more of those players making some kind of a forced bet (the blind or ante). In standard poker, each player stakes based on the rank they think their hands is worth as compared to the other players. The action then proceeds clockwise as each player in turn must either match (or "call") the maximum previous bet, or fold, losing the sum bet so far and additional involvement in the hand. A player who matches with a wager may also "increase" (increase) the bet. The betting round ends when all players have either called the last bet or folded. If all but one participant hangs on any round, the rest of the player accumulates the pot without needing to show their hand. If more than 1 player remains in contention after the final betting round, a showdown takes place where the hands are shown, and the player with the winning hand takes the pot. With the exception of first forced bets, cash is just placed into the pot voluntarily with a participant who believes the bet has positive expected value or who's trying to bluff other players for various strategic reasons. Thus, while the consequence of any particular hand significantly involves opportunity, the long-run expectations of the players are determined by their actions chosen on the basis of chance, psychology, and game theory. Poker has increased in popularity since the beginning of the 20th century, and it has gone from being mostly a recreational activity confined to small groups of enthusiasts to a widely common action, both for players and audiences, including online, with numerous professional gamers and multimillion-dollar championship prizes.
